Italorama Bar

Do androids dream of electric cats? At least that's what you'd think when listening to the smooth-flowing, retro-futuristic sets from the Canadian-raised, Berlin-based DJ, producer and organizer of Dreams Of Neon party series Lazercat. From Italo Disco, New Wave and New Beat to EBM, Electro to Techno - these are also the rough coordinates of our first Italorama Bar Party this year. In addition to Lazercat, Franz Scala and Giulia Gutterer from the Berlin slow-motion label, the Italian-French DJ and producer Pablo Bozzi will also be playing. He not only wears his mustache proudly like Giorgio Moroder once did, but also drives an updated, more muscular electronic disco sound - whether alone with the current 12" on Dischi Autunno, with Hayden Payne alias Phase Fatale as Soft Crash or with Kendal Mulla as Infravision . The latter have just released an extremely successful, full-bodied remix of Anne Clark's proto-techno-wave hit "Our Darkness", which beams her apocalyptic 80s poetry into a no less gloomy present time.

Doubting all the time /
Fearing all the time /
That like these urban nightmares /
We'd blacken each other skies.
